Chestnut honey

Italyummy chestnut honey is a Raw Natural Honey coming from the Tuscany chestnut woods. It is a dark-colored honey, with a strong and woody scent and aroma and a strong and sweet taste, but with bitter and elegant notes. Chestnut honey is obtained from the flowers of the same plant and is generally harvested between the end of June and mid-July. It is also famous for its anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties. The large component of fructose compared to glucose gives it great liquidity making it rarely to crystallize. As with all our honeys, this too is extracted without being pasteurized, heated or altered.

PAIRINGS

Not particularly sweet and with a bitter aftertaste that makes it excellent to accompany meat and aged cheeses. For these reasons, we do not consider it suitable as a substitute for sugar in beverages such as tea. Instead it is excellent for making sauces to accompany second courses, but it is perfect for making sweets or biscuits.
